This project was created for a screen printing class. The goal was to design a poster promoting a series of events organized by Heritage Montréal. The talks are aimed at professionals like architects, urban planners, and city officials, focusing on the future of cities and urban life.
The biggest challenge was striking the right tone. It had to look serious and professional enough for the audience, but still feel bold and engaging. And since it was being screen printed, I had to keep the number of layers low and think carefully about how to use color and space in a simple, strong way.
I started by working with architectural shapes and bold diagonals to reflect movement and structure. The colors were chosen to feel warm but still sharp. I kept the typography clear and direct, to make the information easy to read.
The poster was screen printed in three layers: black for the architectural shapes, white for contrast, and yellow/orange for emphasis. I used diagonals to guide the viewer’s eye and reflect the structure of the city. The color choices were made to stand out while keeping a professional tone, and the layout was designed to highlight key information clearly.
